In August, ACCI welcomed our newest affiliate – Truth Is Therapy & More, LLC!
Truth Is Therapy & More, LLC was founded in March 2019 by Shakilah Williams, a Southwest Georgia native. Williams says, “at an early age, I knew I was passionate about encouraging, motivating, and inspiring others to be the best version of themselves.” Williams has Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. However, her certifications also include: International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC II), a Certified Parenting Instructor (CPI), Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAM-S), Certified Shoplifting and Theft Addiction Specialist, (CSTAS), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

What is the mission or vision of Truth Is Therapy & More?
Shakilah: “When you choose to work with Truth Is Therapy & More you will encounter a team of real people who are honest, genuine, and true. We listen carefully, challenge creatively, guide gently, but above all we care about you! Through our approach you receive the best of traditional therapy coupled with a meticulous blend of wisdom and experience from some of today’s brightest minds. Streamlined with simplicity in mind! Delivered with empathy, understanding, and professionalism, we are here with you every step of the way because our mission is you!”
So why join ACCI?
Shakilah: “In April of this year, I had the opportunity to attend a training about how to start a court-mandated services business. I had been trying to get to this training for a while, I mean years because this is how long I have know that this what I wanted to do but it seemed as if I kept running into dead ends, locked doors, etc.
This guy provides us with a lot I had already because I spoke with the guy before on a zoom call, but at the end he throws this out there so calmly and randomly – “Or you can link with ACCI. This company already has classes done for you.” Now I’m wondering, Why you wouldn’t lead with this and why didn’t you go that route? I felt like that piece of information was just for me.
Now when I got home and begin to do my research of and I read Mr. Lloyd’s story, I’m sitting there with tears in my eyes because I relate to both him and with his mom, just the feelings…we are relatable. The passion that we both possess internally pertaining to our individual missions appeared to be in harmony at that moment.
After looking at a sample course, the clinician part of me loved everything about it, the structure of it and it was evidence-based. I was in therapeutic heaven! The opportunity could not have been presented at a better time as I am truly in a position where I am ready to give back in a meaningful way. ACCI is helping Truth Is Therapy & More do that while remaining true to my values and beliefs. So, all those years were well worth the wait!”
